This is important to know while you\u2019re doing intermittent fasting.<\/p>\n<p>Some beverages can trigger an insulin spike and immediately stop your fasting benefits. <\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that consuming something that&#039;s 100% fat will not break your fast. This is because fat does not spike insulin on its own. However, consuming more dietary fat will deprioritize the burning of body fat. So if you\u2019re goal is to lose weight, consume less fat while fasting. <\/p>\n<p>Fiber will also not spike insulin because your body can\u2019t digest and utilize fiber. <\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s take a look at what you can and can\u2019t drink during your fasting window. <\/p>\n<p>What to drink and not drink during fasting:<br \/>\n1. Water: Yes<br \/>\n2. Water + apple cider vinegar: Yes<br \/>\n3. Water + lemon juice: Yes<br \/>\n4. Diet soda: No<br \/>\n5. Black coffee: Yes<br \/>\n6. Bullet-proof coffee: Maybe (may slow weight loss)<br \/>\n7. Coffee with cream: Maybe (if you\u2019re using heavy cream)<br \/>\n8. Bone broth: No<br \/>\n9. Green and herbal teas: Yes<br \/>\n10. Coconut water: No<br \/>\n11. Coconut milk: Maybe (in small amounts)<br \/>\n12. Pre-workout (BCAA): No<br \/>\n13. Alcohol: No<br \/>\n14. Milk: No<br \/>\n15.
